Ms. Kayla McKeon is the Grassroots Advocacy Manager at the National Down Syndrome Society. McKeon is also the first registered lobbyist with Down syndrome. McKeon is very involved with Special Olympics as a Congressional Member of their Athlete Congress and as an athlete. In 2011, she competed in the Special Olympic World games in Athens, Greece winning a silver and bronze medal in International competition. McKeon serves as an NDSS Self-Advocate Advisor. Prior to joining the NDSS team, McKeon was a student at Onondaga Community College and LeMoyne College. She successfully completed several courses towards her Associate Degree in General Studies. McKeon previously worked for Congressman John Katko (R-NY). McKeon also has a blog and podcast, Kayla’s Korner, on the NDSS website. McKeon resides in Syracuse, NY.
