Amy Morrow, PhD, (she/her) is a senior editor/writer at RTI International, co-chair of the RTI Pride: LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, and Learning and Development Lead for RTI's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. Leveraging her experience as a language professional, she champions the use of gender-friendly language at all levels, from technical staff to fellow editors to leadership. Through this work, she has learned many lessons about the importance of allies and when to rush in where angels (and style guides) fear to tread.
