Jefferson

Workplace Application:
Learn which states have passed laws or regulations that expand the reasons for which an employee may request a religious accommodation to mandatory vaccination policies and potentially other company requirements, and ways in which HR can push back

Learning Objectives:

  • To provide an update on which states have passed laws that expand the bases on which an employee can request a religious accommodation and which states are considering doing so.
  • To explain ways in which HR and in-house counsel can control and even push back on the wave of employee accommodation requests based on religion.
  • To discuss best practices to prevent liability for companies that want to maintain their mandatory vaccination policies (or other policies, such as mandatory discrimination training) while still accommodating legitimate religious exemption requests.
