Inclusive Leadership: How Hilton Grand Vacations Advanced Their Culture, Talent, and Business
Magnolia 5
Competencies: Business (Behavioral), Leadership (Behavioral), Workplace (Technical)
| Intended Audience: Mid-Level
Workplace Application:
Learn how to organize/orchestrate an inclusive leadership development journey that drives sustainable change for a more inclusive and equitable culture.
HGV had just completed a merger and hired a Chief Diversity Officer. It created an opportunity to recenter leadership expectations. The team developed an Inclusive Leadership Journey (not a DEI Journey) to celebrate values, pinpoint inclusive behaviors, and integrate two cultures. The result was a multi-faceted approach with C-Suite sponsorship, a reset with Team Member Resource Groups, and a development journey anchored in inclusion, equity, and self-awareness. This session will present the full case study.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify factors that influence the pros/cons of labeling an initiative as DEI versus an Inclusive Leadership journey.
- Organize drivers of a specific people strategy into a model that visualizes in a simple and meaningful way how to activate more inclusion and equity.
- Recognize how individual, team, and organizational self-awareness influences leaders in moments of inclusion to embrace or question the work models currently in place.
- Plan a development journey that transforms individual experiences into a collective movement that reinforces the learning necessary to create sustainable change.
In-person session offerings are on a first-come, first-served basis.
