In the US, one of the greatest challenges experienced by individuals with disabilities is employment. However, people with disabilities tend to stay on the job longer, are absent less, and have job performance ratings nearly identical to their peers without disabilities. When companies recruit, hire, and retain individuals with disabilities (including veterans), they benefit from a wider pool of talent, skills, and creative business solutions. Expanding your recruiting efforts to reach a more diverse candidate audience through digital recruiting channels means that you can expect a more diverse workforce in general. This session will focus on building diverse candidate networks, accessibility guidelines for online applications and your career website, and how digital recruitment can be a game changer for companies that want to be more inclusive in hiring practices.
Learning Objectives:
- Hear how recruiting candidates with disabilities can benefit your company.
- Attract diverse job candidates in a digital landscape.
- Discover why accessibility matters, what accessibility looks like in practice.
- Discuss accessibility and WCAG guidelines.
