Empathy is one of the most critical components for Inclusion. Empathic inclusive workplaces create higher employee engagement and retention yet there is a serious empathy deficit in our organizations. During this session you will learn how to create empathic workplaces where inclusion thrives, your people stay, engagement is high, and overall company performance increases.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn the key components necessary for the development of culture(s) within their workplaces.
- Understand empathic capability can be taught, measured, and used as a baseline for other cultural capabilities.
- Understand how employees relate to active listening, clarifying statements, and conversational inquiry from their manager and leadership teams. These reactions traditionally lead to improvements in attracting, retaining, and engaging employees in cultures where belonging, learning, and empathy thrive.
- Learn from SHRM's own IE&D Council members on how SHRM has focused on developing our culture where team members see it as a privilege to work at SHRM and serve our members and the HR profession. It is about creating Better Workplaces for a Better World and Driving Change.
