This session will highlight the critical reasons why DEI programs fail to deliver intended impact and share an alternative, research-based approach that helps sidestep leadership resistance and demotivation. Sharing a framework to build sustainable and impactful DIB strategies; participants will learn how to leverage culture and belonging and how anchoring to leadership behaviors can deliver impact and results.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe why some DEI programs fail and where they tend to lose support and energy.
- Explain the psychological and neuroscientific constructs that commonly contribute to resistance to DEI programs.
- Demonstrate how the importance of belonging can be used to minimize intergroup bias and resistance to DEI programs.
- Measure the core belonging behaviors that are known to drive key organizational outcomes.
- Implement three or four interventions focused on overcoming the most problematic behaviors that get in the way of key organizational outcomes.
