In this session, you’ll learn how the rise of remote work is impacting DEI in recruiting for both remote & non-remote jobs and how hiring teams can both grow and diversify their candidate pools in a distributed world.

In 2019, almost no companies offered remote or hybrid roles – today, most companies do. Remote work has shifted the ground beneath hiring teams’ feet. The good news? The rise of remote work is positively impacting DEI in recruiting for both remote and non-remote jobs.

In this session, Maryam Jahanshahi, Ph.D, Co-founder and Head of R&D at Datapeople, will present highlights from “Hiring in a Distributed World,” a new study of 30 million real-world job posts and hiring outcomes from 2019-2022. We’ll look at what the data tells us about how remote opportunities are transforming candidate pools; how employers’ responses are advancing DEI efforts for groups such as women and non-college graduates; and what you can do to further inclusivity in your own hiring practices while competing in one of the most challenging labor markets in history.

Learning Objectives:

  • The latest data on the remote/hybrid/onsite job landscape and how the rise of remote work is impacting the size and diversity of candidate pools.
  • Examples of how employers globally are responding to changing applicant pools and, specifically, creating opportunities for historically underrepresented groups in an effort to widen their candidate funnels.
  • Recommendations they can act on to grow and diversify their applicant pools, strengthen their candidate pipelines, and ultimately make their entire recruiting process more fair and efficient.
