Inclusion Is the Goal; Diversity Is the Outcome
We can hire for diversity, but if those individuals are then excluded and sidestepped, we’ve achieved nothing. Diversity is not a goal, but the outcome of deliberate efforts to value people holistically, along with the array of experiences they bring.

In his 2019 keynote address, SHRM President & CEO Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., will demonstrate that what makes people different isn’t something to “accept” or “tolerate.”  It is the rocket fuel that drives our workplaces forward—to be more innovative, more productive, better. By shifting culture to put inclusion at the center, we can steer the direction not only of our workplaces, but our society and our world.
