However, recent legislation has caused confusion for HR Professionals, with 71% citing Hiring and Retention as their biggest challenge. When asked what changes their companies have made to address this, 17.2% said they have eliminated or relaxed background check requirements. This important risk mitigation measure can be conducted in a way that does not exclude those with criminal convictions when best practices are followed.
