Workplace Application:
Learn an actionable model of inclusion and a process for integrating it into the employee experience.

While inclusion is an increasingly popular workplace goal, it remains a vague, abstract concept in most organizations. This makes it difficult for those organizations to figure out how to reach that goal and what to measure along the way. This session will unpack a logical and actionable model of what inclusion is and a process for integrating it into the employee experience. This is how we make it real. In this session, you will:

  • Explore some common definitions of "inclusion," including your own, and discuss the importance of having a clear and concise definition.
  • Review the core characteristics of an inclusive experience.
  • Review a cultural framework built on the variables of uniqueness and a sense of belonging, illuminating the differences between exclusion, differentiation, assimilation, and inclusion.
  • Use the cultural framework to evaluate your own culture and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Practice designing a more-inclusive employee experience for your organization.
