0.75 SHRM PDCs, 0.75 HR Credit | Competencies: HR Expertise, Critical Evaluation | Intended Audience: Senior-Level
Workplace Application:
This session will help educate you on the benefits of considering candidates with felony records.

This is a call to action for organizations that do not consider candidates with a felony history. It provides perspectives to address the societal need for ending the cycle of incarceration for families and communities, the talent needs that can be met by these skilled people, the legal requirements of the EEOC and workplace safety … and the success that many employers have experienced when they give these worthy individuals a chance. This session will:

·         Provide an understanding of the benefits of tapping into this resource that is frequently bypassed
(usually due to ignorance or convenience).

·         Enable you to overcome ignorance by partnering with experts from organizations who can provide the information and
tools necessary to achieve strategic goals.

·         Inspire and enable you to change your organization's approach by overcoming extreme risk-avoidance, in order to
tap into this pool of talent.
