Workplace Application:
Review the legal and the human side of perception discrimination, and apply proactive practices to the workplace

Human and work relationships are all about people, who have biases and perceptions that affect what they see and hear. Those perceptions can lead to legal charges and claims of discrimination or harassment. This session gives you the knowledge to:

• Describe sources or bases of workplace misunderstandings, misperception and/or miscommunication.

• Name federal employment laws that prohibit discrimination based on perception.

• Compare and contrast proactive strategies, and pitfalls to avoid, in fostering "a workplace that thinks before it acts" based upon perceptions.
