Sessions
Micro-inequities are the ways in which individuals are singled out, overlooked, ignored or otherwise discounted, based on unchangeable characteristics such as race, gender or sexual orientation. They generally take the form of gestures, different language, treatment or even tone of voice. When micro-inequities accumulate to block employees' contributions and cause disengagement, they .transcend the personal and become a major business issue. This session will help you:
• Identify micro-inequities, including those not so easy to see.
• Understand the impact of micro-inequities on individuals and teams in the workplace.
• Discuss the business case for eliminating micro-inequities and furthering inclusion.
• Identify things you can do individually as a leader and team member to eliminate micro-inequities.
• Create a strategic approach to replace micro-inequities with macro-affirmations, to send a message of respect throughout the organization.
