Workplace Application:
Understand how multitasking actually leads to morestress and errors and less efficiency

Learn why your brain prevents you from multitasking—which is actually a myth— and discover its negative impact on employees. If you have the courage, tame the multitasking monster in your organization; doing so will lead to greater employee engagement and inclusion.

• Recognize the link between multitasking and behaviors that can disengage employees, such as texting and checking e-mail in a meeting while others are talking and sharing ideas.

• See why we engage in these types of behaviors more with outsiders (those who are not like us) than with insiders (those who are like us), which creates a socially and emotionally unsafe environment for certain folks.
