Asilia Backus is a Director and Senior Attorney, Employment Law in American Airlines' Legal Department in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. American Airlines, with over 100,000 employees, together with its regional partners, operates an average of nearly 6,700 flights per day to nearly 350 destinations in more than 50 countries. Asilia provides employment-related advice and counsel to HR and management clients on various issues including recruiting, discipline and performance management, and medical leaves and reasonable accommodations. She also manages employment litigation, directs company investigations and conducts HR and management training. Prior to joining American Airlines, Asilia worked in private practice in Chicago. Asilia is a graduate of Northwestern University and Northwestern University School of Law.
