Record low employee engagement is harming organizations worldwide. A recent Hewitt report discovered that half of organizations worldwide experienced a significant drop in employee engagement levels at the end of the June 2010 quarter — the largest decline observed in 15 years. The Corporate Leadership Council recently reported in their HR Quarterly News and Trends (Q2 2010) that only 25% of employees are displaying high levels of “intent to stay”. This lack of engagement is costing companies hundreds of billions of dollars in lost productivity and damaging client satisfaction and loyalty. This timely presentation mixes humor, multimedia, and practical best practices and will remind leaders that becoming an Employer of Choice is “louder than words”. An engaged workforce must stand the test of time, in both boom and recessionary times.
