An Introduction to the Antitrust Division and Its Leniency Program

Workplace Application:
Attendees will learn about the mission of the Antitrust Division, including how the agency enforces federal antitrust laws, with a particular focus on the purpose and operation of its leniency program. 

This session will introduce attendees to the Antitrust Division, an agency within the Department of Justice charged with enforcing the federal antitrust laws. The session will identify, in general terms, specific types of conduct that are likely to violate those laws, and attendees will get an introduction to compliance with the federal antitrust laws. The session will also discuss the ways in which the Division enforces those laws, with a particular focus on the Division’s leniency program.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the principal federal antitrust laws.
  • Become aware of the Antitrust Division and its mission.
  • Identify the types of conduct that likely violates federal antitrust laws.
  • Ensure compliance with federal antitrust laws.
  • Become familiar with the Division’s leniency program.
