Concurrent Session
Feedback As a Retention Tool. Care Enough to Speak Up
Roman Ballroom 3-4
In-Person and Virtual Tuesday 04/16/2024 04:15 PM - 05:15 PM   Add to calendar
Competencies: Interpersonal (Behavioral), Leadership (Behavioral) | Intended Audience: Mid-Level
Workplace Application:
Attendees will leave with a simple formula to give even the most challenging performance feedback in two minutes.

Employees want to learn and be challenged. Managers who take the time and have the courage to coach and give direct, timely, and helpful feedback are sought after and have loyal employees. Teach your managers that feedback is a retention tool, and it costs absolutely nothing. Employees want to know how they're doing and what they need to do to grow their careers, but most employees get almost no real feedback at work. Train managers to be effective coaches and develop and retain your best employees.

Learning Objectives:

  • Give succinct, helpful, and direct feedback in two minutes. Quicker is better.
  • Overcome the fear and concern of giving feedback.
  • Reduce employees' resistance and defensiveness when receiving difficult feedback.
  • Become the manager all employees want - the manager who takes the time and has the courage to tell employees the truth.
