DE(A)I: Breaking Bias in Technology Adoption
Milano Ballroom 1-2
Tuesday 04/16/2024 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM   Add to calendar
Competencies: Business (Behavioral), Interpersonal (Behavioral), Leadership (Behavioral) | Intended Audience: Senior-Level
Workplace Application:
Learn to embed bias mitigation strategies across the enterprise to allow technical and non-technical professionals to more effectively assess, adopt, monitor and systematize the use of AI technology.

Although AI systems can be helpful in the workplace, they are not without their faults. AI can learn bias from its underlying data, making it crucial for humans to monitor the performance of their AI tools. Identifying and intentionally mitigating unconscious bias is a critical step in forming the necessary first principles - as well as priorities, habits and systems - to guide ethical, effective adoption of AI and other emergent technologies.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply evidence-based bias mitigation strategies to better assess talent and business risks and opportunities related to AI adoption.
  • Implement communication tactics to embed cognitively sticky, sustained organizational principles across the enterprise with regard to the use of technology.
  • Identify common - and sometimes unexpected - challenges pertaining to bias, technology and people outcomes in the workplace.
