Employers, educators and candidates around the world know there’s a skills gap. A Forage study of 1700 students globally found only 14% believe colleges provide the skills needed for workplace success. To bridge this gap, the traditional model of hiring and then training needs to be flipped. By training before you hire, you "preskill” a person, encapsulating the intersection between career exploration and workplace-specific training before an individual becomes a candidate or employee. It enables entry-career talent to build skills relevant to a specific employer’s work before applying for a role or being hired -- bridging the capability & awareness gap. This can help TA teams who are inundated by resumes, most of which aren’t even a fit for a role – saving time and resources. Thomas will share specific examples of companies who are successfully using this model and the results they're seeing as well as how to deploy a program of this kind.
