Attendees will learn how our brain works to interpret identity as a primary filter for decision-making, and why that so deeply matters for all things work.

We make a lot of decisions, all day, every day. And, we all want to make the very best ones for ourselves, and for those we care about, as possible. That's certainty number 1. The problem is, though, that our brains, often unbeknownst to us, move us away from our best decisions and outcomes all the time. We don't end up getting what we wanted, intended, or even planned for. That's certainty number 2. So, what's going on? Why is our brain doing battle against us? And, how is who we think we are a critical factor in that process? This session will explain the concept of unconscious bias as a decision-making system rather than simply a moral position, and explore how we can we unlock new decision-making processes to unfold new opportunities and outcomes for ourselves, our teams, and our organizations.

- Connect systems of bias to decision-making.
- Decouple bias from simply a moral or ethical who is "good" and who is "bad" conversation.
- Understand the concept of identity as paramount in a decision-making process.
- Learn a new framework for more inclusive information-gathering and decision-making.
