Neurodiversity in the Workplace: What HR Professionals Need to Know About Accommodations, Disclosure and Leveling the Playing Field
Virtual TBD
Competencies: People (Technical)

We all learn and think differently, yet 1 in 5 Americans struggle with learning and thinking differences, such as ADHD and Dyslexia. And while those with neurodiversity are common in the workplace, they are still often misunderstood, undiagnosed and dismissed, which is costing society more than $500 billion and keeping companies from reaching greater potential for their talent pool, increased productivity, and higher shareholder returns.

Understood is the only organization that’s a lifelong guide to those with neurodiversity (learning and thinking differences). In this session, Yvonne Cowser Yancy, Chief Administrative Officer for Understood, will walk through what neurodiversity is and looks like in the workplace, how accommodations are necessary and easier to implement than companies might think, how to create safe spaces for workplace disclosure, and how organizations can help ensure diversity and inclusion go beyond just the color of skin.
