1.00 SHRM PDCs | Intended Audience: All Levels

There are 56 million people in the U.S. living with a disability, yet less than 20% of them are employed. SHRM research indicates that as many as 50% of employers don’t actively recruit people with disabilities. HR professionals are in a unique position to change this. HR has an opportunity to be a social force and to demonstrate the immense value this untapped talent pool can bring to an organization and the workforce at large. During this session, you’ll be inspired by the strength and determination of the stories shared. You’ll also learn the compelling business case for effectively recruiting and retaining individuals with disabilities. We challenge you to take this message back to your organization and ensure that disability is a part of your diversity and inclusion program as well as a priority for your business. This session is brought to you in partnership with the SHRM Foundation and its mission to build inclusive workplaces that work for all.
