Join this interactive program as we look at the latest legislative trends, legal issues, and proactive practices for TA professions to help reduce the threat, harm, and deadly consequences of substance use and abuse, including: State trends to decriminalize substances other than marijuana; Restrictions on pre-employment/post offer substance testing and inquiries; The CDC’s guidance for employers; SAMHSA’s tips for deciding if you want to implement a workplace substance testing program; Workers’ Comp liability if drug addiction arises from a work-related injury; Courts’ opinions on employers’ liability for negligence or wrongful death in drug-related death which states are expanding laws to legalize or authorize ‘recreational” use of marijuana and other drugs; and what may be on the horizon. plus some practical tips, suggestions and questions to consider for updating your general and related workplace policies, programs and practices.
