Workplace Application:
Attendees will learn how digital credentials and learning and employment records will help talent professionals in talent recruitment, management and diversity.

The transition to a skills-based economy is well underway. In this new-economy employers, government, and educational institutions place a premium on understanding the skills people bring with them to the job. These skills are the currency of the future and are increasingly used to drive decisions around employment, work assignments, and career pathways. In addition, it will open the aperture to new and different talent allowing organizations to improve diversity and inclusion in their workforce. This transition will impact the way we recruit and manage talent, and will be powered by new technologies. We will discuss the cultural changes required to embrace skills-based hiring, the enabling technologies of blockchain and artificial intelligence, and lessons learned from IBM and other employers on how to be successful in embracing the promise of skills-based hiring.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand why skills-based hiring is important for talent professionals.
  • Learn about the enabling technologies of blockchain, artificial intelligence, and learning and employment records.
  • Gain insight to the best practices and lessons learned from companies that are making the journey to skills-based hiring and the benefits they are seeing.
