Concurrent Session
Engagement Is Out; Cohesion Is In
Virtual Monday 08/23/2021 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM   Add to calendar
Competencies: Business Acumen, Leadership & Navigation
Workplace Application:
Attendees will learn how and why to create cultures of cohesion that build workplaces of belonging, value and mutual commitment.

With only 40 percent of the global workforce actually committed to organizational success, “Dr. Troy” makes the case that to have the type of commitment leaders want from their employees, it takes cohesion, not engagement. Why? With nearly 63 percent of an organization's employees actively searching for a new position, companies can no longer afford to settle for mere employee engagement based on a hunch. Cohesion occurs when people feel a sense of belonging, have value and offer commitment. When cohesion is present, teams always perform. This level of cohesive performance supports the kind of engagement leaders want in their organizations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover how retaining talent can be attained through the framework of a cohesion culture.
  • Explore how predicting behavior is a result of a causal phenomenon, not through correlational data.
  • Learn how to use the Talent Retention Model to apply the framework of cohesion and the organizational culture.
