Workplace Application:
By understanding how an employee's preferences may vary by career stage, companies can learn how to best drive engagement across their organization.

Successful companies come in all shapes and sizes, but they have one important thing in common: They believe their employees are their greatest assets. Employee engagement can impact a number of things, including talent acquisition and retention, customer satisfaction and financial performance. But how many employees today are truly engaged? Turns out, 2 in 5 employees are completely disengaged from their employer. With such a diverse workforce makeup, a one-size-fits-all approach to employee engagement just doesn't cut it. Two employees of the same age yet at different career stages often want and are motivated by different things. While many studies have explored the generational differences in the workplace, there's much more to consider than just age. Padilla will share insights from its Engage by Stage study, which will help you to understand how an employee's career stage, not just his or her age, can have an impact on the employee’s engagement level.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the different stages that employees pass through during their careers and how those stages impact engagement (including preferences related to communication channels, rewards and recognition, values alignment, work styles, etc.).
  • Discover how leadership behaviors and attitudes, organizational goals and an employee's role influence employee engagement.
  • Learn actionable takeaways for using these career-stage preferences to best drive engagement across the organization in order to retain and inspire talent of all ages and stages.
