You will learn the importance of industry recognition and the use of credentials, along with your role in moving forward to help close the skills gap. 

The skills gap is real and persistent. This session will present a new approach that will look at the connection of industry credentials to academic programs to help ensure that graduates and those who complete programs have the essential skills needed for employment. The session will touch on the importance of creating a common language between the education community and employers which is applicable at the local, state and multistate levels. This session will cover:

·         What is causing the persistent skills gap problem.

·         A new approach to solving the skills gap.

·         How industry credentials create a common language and skills gap solutions.

·         New resources, tools and best practices.

·         The role of employers in implementing new approaches/solutions.
