Well before the issue of workplace sexual harassment exploded into the national conversation, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Acting Chair Victoria Lipnic was struck by the number of harassment complaints made to the Commission and the egregious behaviors involved. With the support of the full Commission, the EEOC Select Task Force on the Study of Harassment in the Workplace was created in early 2015, with then-Commissioner Lipnic and her colleague Commissioner Chai Feldblum serving as co-chairs. In June 2016, Lipnic and Feldblum issued the final report of the task force discussing the business case for rooting out harassment, an analysis of risk factors and a discussion of the need to reboot workplace training.
