1.50 SHRM PDCs | Competencies: Relationship Management, Leadership & Navigation, Global & Cultural Effectiveness | Intended Audience: Mid-Level
Workplace Application:
Understand your work-style preference and how to leverage diverse work styles in your team and organization.

In this session, we will review the importance of individual work-style preferences when interacting with colleagues on a domestic and global basis. We will review key dimensions that provide a common language and framework to understand diverse ways of working. By mapping strategies on sample global teams, we will highlight how to improve communication, engagement and overall performance. These core dimensions impact everything from how you run a meeting, give feedback, influence others and build relationships. By honoring diverse work styles, teams and organizations can leverage individual strengths and resolve complex issues in unique ways, creating multiple paths to a conclusion. This helps drives high performance on teams within VUCA (volatile, uncertain, ambiguous and complex) business environments. You will:

  • Learn the core framework to recognize and discuss work-style preferences.
  • Explore your preferred work style and its strengths and blind spots.
  • Understand how to leverage diverse work styles in teams and organizations.
