Workplace Application:
As a diversity stakeholder, you will leave the session with a broader awareness of utilizing data for increasing workforce diversity and closing the wage gap.

Increasing workforce diversity and closing the wage gap are two topics that are receiving heightened attention from the government, organizational leaders, employees and the public. At an increasing rate, federal, state and local governments are issuing laws to assist in closing the wage gap, such as banning previous-salary questions during the selection process. However, organizations are collecting various data points from applicants and employees on a daily basis. How can organizations ensure the collection and use of data in a compliant manner and that it’s properly leveraged for diversity initiatives? Hear an overview of the current state of affairs, and learn best practices for when and under what circumstances certain data are used by organizations. You will also gain insights into adopting diversity analytics to demonstrate opportunities for increasing workforce diversity and decreasing the wage gap within a legal framework. In this session you will:

  • Gain awareness of the legal landscape for data collection.
  • Learn about the social demands on increasing diversity and closing the wage gap.
  • Learn how diversity analytics can assist in driving organizational awareness and action.
