Workplace Application:
Gain valuable techniques for asking questions that validate the presence or absence of critical emotional intelligence skills in candidates.

Repeated Wednesday at 11:15 a.m.

This session will dive into proven techniques for successful talent acquisition. You will receive a simple yet powerful tool for quickly identifying the emotional intelligence skills most important for each job, along with suggested questions to reveal the candidate’s level of EQ. With the increased difficulty in obtaining reference information and candidates who are well-educated and well-rehearsed, interviewers must be skilled at separating style from substance. This session will help interviewers take back the advantage and uncover high or low emotional intelligence skills during their interviewing and selection process. During this session, you will:

  • Receive a job evaluation tool that quickly helps you organize the skills to seek (technical skills, professional skills and education/experience) during the interview.
  • Learn ways to use emotional intelligence and the key skills to seek in a candidate via targeted interview questions.
  • Get tips for interpreting answers to determine fit and take some of the guesswork out of the selection process.
