Learn how you can create a faith-friendly work environment for Muslims and why this is such an important issue for HR professionals.

This session will demystify what it means to be a Muslim. Presenter Hanadi Chehabeddine will share her inspirational personal and professional experiences, first addressing the main misconceptions about Islam and then moving on to what you, as an HR professional, can do to educate your employees and create a thriving culture of acceptance. You will learn what it means to be Muslim and tackle widely held misconceptions that people have: Why don’t Muslims denounce terrorism? Are women oppressed in Islam? What is Sharia Law? What is Islamophobia really about? This session will help you to distinguish facts from fiction and bring critical thinking into your acquired perception of the second-largest world religion. It will also reveal the race- and religion-based realities of workforce exclusion. You will gain practical tips on how to create a faith-friendly work environment for Muslims and why this is such an important issue for human resource professionals. You are invited to ask questions, and Chehabeddine will answer with refreshing honesty and openness. No question is out of bounds. In this session, you will learn:

  • The difference between culture and religion.
  • What makes a workplace faith-friendly toward Muslims.
  • Ways in which you can make your organization a better, more understanding and more inclusive place.
